Great news! Honda (and presumably Apple) just announced a number of car models that will feature Siri Eyes Free, and the Acura RDX is among them. (And the Accord, but whatever.)
I drive a 2008 Acura RDX, and while we still have a handful of years left before we think of trading it in, it's good to know that our next car will have Siri Eyes Free. (Because the RDX is awesome, it got even better with the 2012 revamp, and we're sticking with it indefinitely.)
The question now is, what kind of functionality will Siri Eyes Free provide? You'd think - at a minimum - that it would integrate with the RDX's heads-up display in order to provide GPS directions to "Siri, where is the nearest gas station/McDonalds/rest area" or "Siri, how do I get home from here?"
I'd expect that it will also do things like "Siri, call Thomas McMahon" or "Siri, text Susan 'On my way home'", and that it will read incoming texts aloud. This will be great.
It would be pretty cool, though, if more Siri functionality was included - i.e. "Siri, did the Cubs win today?", "Siri, buy 2 adult tickets and 1 child ticket to the 9:00 PM showing of Skyfall at the City North Theatre" as we're headed into the city, or even "Siri, how many miles is it from the Earth to the moon?"
